Father : Go and get it from your mom.

B: I’m sorry, would you mind repeating the name, please?
A: I said Raveendran.
B: Oh Raveendran. I’m afraid he is away at the moment.
A: I’d be grateful if you could pass on a message to him. I’m
Livia. The book he wants is in my office with my personal
secretary.
B: I’ve noted down the message. I’ll pass it on to him as soon as
he arrives.

A. Asking someone to say something again
We ask someone to repeat when we can’t hear what the person says.The expressions are given below:
Informal : What was that?
Sorry.
What did you say?
Sorry I didn’t hear you.
Neutral : I’m sorry, what did you say?
I’m sorry, I couldn’t hear what you said.
Pardon?
Formal : I beg your pardon.
I’m sorry, would you mind repeating the word (please)?
