Task 3: What kind of weather do you think was the cause
for the following situations? Write a sentence which
could go before each of these situations:

1. The top storey of the building came tumbling down.
2. The earth is dry and cracked and the field has not even a
blade of grass.
3. Schools have closed and the family is staying indoors after
storing drinking water, tinned food and candles.
4. Cars have their headlights on and I can’t see my hand when
held infront of my face.
5. It blew my cap clean off my head.
6. The roads are slippery and cars are skidding out of control.
7. All that was left of the tree was nothing but cinder.
8. We have to stay in the shade every afternoon.
9. Flights are cancelled and fishermen are not allowed to
venture into the sea.
10. The camels and the nomads had to stop their journey and
lie low.
